Stefanos was born on the 12th August 1998 in Athens to Apostolos Tsitsipas and Julia Salnikova. He has 3 siblings: Petros, Pavlos and a sister Elisavet. His parents met during a WTA tennis event in Athens where Julia was competing while Apostolos was the line judge. They were both coaching tennis when Stefanos was born. Stefanos started taking tennis lessons at the age of 6. He commenced playing junior ITF at the age of 14.
