Another big retirement in Wimbeldon and it’s a knee again.
John Isner was playing against Adrian Mannarino to retire after two games when they were on a 1-1 scoreline.
From John
A disappointed Isner commented “It didn’t pop. It just grabbed, like, really badly, and I knew I was in serious trouble then. I mean, I knew at that point it was not likely I was going to be able to play.”
“I just can’t bend my knee,” Isner said about 30 minutes after leaving the court. “I can walk as long as I keep it straight. So it’s just putting any sort of weight. I couldn’t even bend the slightest, and I still can’t.” he added.
Mannarino to the 3rd round
Now ranked world no.111, Adrian Mannarino will face a surprising Dustin Brown (world no.189) in the third round. Head to head is 2-1 Mannarino , they have played only in challengers.
