Tsonga withdraws from Wimbeldon because of a knee injury

Another illustrous player had to bow out from Wimbledon this time for an injury.

Jo was playing a tasty match against Mad Max Gulbis to then retire at the beginning of the 4th set because of a left knee injury.

From Jo

“I tried, but no chance for me to beat a guy like this without my legs,” said Tsonga

From Ernest

Gulbis left one of his funny comments to say “It was tough points, because still even on one leg he has very good talented hands,”

“Grand slam is grand slam. You don’t need an easy way to win it. If you can’t make it, you can’t make it. Sorry, stay at home and do something else.

Grand slam should be five sets, blood, fight five sets all the way until the end, until somebody is dead.” he added.

Next vs. Verdasco

Gulbis will play Verdasco in the next round. Head to head is 2-1 for Verdasco, but Gulbis won the last one this year in Barcelona 6-3 6-4.
