Simona Halep’s coach Darren Cahill excited for playing vs. Serena Williams and possibly Naomi Osaka

Darren Cahill is elated with the personalities involved in the WTA Tour

Simona Halep And Serena Williams

Simona Halep and Serena Williams will face each other for the 12th time in their career. While Serena has a winning 9-2 win-loss record against the Romanian champion, Simona demolished Williams in their last match in the 2019 Wimbledon final. On that occasion, Halep won 6-2 6-2 in just 56 minutes.

Simona Halep’s coach Darren Cahill has been coaching the former world no.1 since 2017 and they have won and lost so many battles together.

Soon after Simona defeated Iga Swiatek in the 4th round, Darren expressed his satisfaction on how the WTA tour is evolving with so many personalities. Cahill seems to be excited for Simona’s next matches to say:

“It’s incredible where WTA has ended up. Simona played today against the Paris champion, next Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and possibly Barty in the final. It’s great, isn’t it? It’s incredible that we can discuss matches like this, so many different personalities and different cultures. What we have in WTA today is a fabulous mix, an excellent product. Only good things can result from this”
