After the huge effort Rafa had to put into the first part of the season when he managed to win a whopping 7 titles and reach 2 finals, Rafa took a break from tennis to withdraw from the tournament in Halle.
As we know, Rafa put a big emphasis on training on a “new surface”, so it was very important for him to try his tennis on grass.
The match finished in straight sets with Rafa commenting “It is always a pleasure to play on grass. I had fun,”
The King of Clay will be back to Wimbledon to recover from last year’s shocking loss at the hands of a (that time) world no.100 Lucas Rosol.
This year it won’t be easy as probably Rafa will have to defeat back to back Federer, Murray and Djokovic to win his third Wimbledon (after 2008 and 2009). You’ll bet it.. he will go for it!
