Federer eases to the quarters in Halle

The Maestro had no problems to beat the world no.166 in straight sets.

It took only 67 minutes for the Swiss to get to the next round. It wasn’t a spotless Federer as Roger has conceded one break, he blasted “only” 3 aces, and he won 69 points vs. Stebe’s 51, but it was good enough.

From Roger

“It was straightforward. I was playing with a lead. That’s always very helpful. I’m pleased. There are many things I could have done better, but for the first round on grass, first time of the year, it was a pretty good performance.” said the Maestro.

Next vs. Zverev

Roger will surprisingly play Mischa Zverev in the quarters. The Russian is ranked 156 in the world, and he has upset Goffin in the first round, and he defeated Basic (that has upset Janowicz). Federer has already played Zverer in Rome 2009 when he won 7-6 (3) 6-2.
