Bianca Andreescu is out of the competitions for 15 months since she got injured in the WTA Finals back in 2019. The Canadian sensation wasn’t able to play a single match in 2020. After recovering from her knee issue, Bianca was stopped by the pandemic and when she was meant to be back for the American swing, she suffered from a foot injury to skip the entire season.

The injuries concerns in 2021

Bianca Andreescu surprised her fans for choosing not to play the WTA in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of the season after training in Dubai for long. The world no.8 had to endure a strict quarantine after landing in Melbourne before playing the Grampians Trophy where she was seeded no.1. Eventually, Andreescu withdrew also from this tournament to raise some concerns.

During a recent press-conference, the Canadian ace explained that she decided not to play as she didn’t want to play a tournament after the strict quarantine.

“I made some mistakes in the past from that and I learnt form it,” she said.

Bianca also revealed that her knee injury was about a torn meniscus.

Now ranked no.8, Bianca played her last match on the 30th of October 2019 when she had to retire when playing against Karolina Pliskova in the round robin and the scoreline was 6-3 .

During this season Andreescu has achieved an overall 0-0 win-loss record.
