Rafael Nadal storms in the ATP World Tour Finals semis

An impressive World Nr.1 Rafael Nadal won in straight sets against Tomas Berdych by 7-6 (3) 6-1.

Nadal displayed an excellent form and his never ending drive when there was quite a nasty dispute after a controversial call by the empire.

Although the Spaniard was penalized by the umpire decision, he went back to the game as strong as ever and the match took off in the right direction for the top seed.

According to Nadal: “I didn’t make a challenge, he called the ball out. Maybe I stopped a little bit because the ball was really close. I did something like this (he put hand up) but I never said ‘stop’. To stop the point you have to say ‘stop’.If I don’t see the umpire saying ‘out’ I’m going to continue for sure because it’s a big risk for me to say the ball is out.”

Berdych commented: â€œIt just shows the referee is probably scared of him and just let him talk too long. It’s not the mistake of Rafa, it’s the mistake of the referee. He just needed to show him that it’s not like he can do whatever he wants on the court. It was just a normal call so I don’t know why he was taking so long.’

Nadal will play Murray in the semis. The Spaniard has an 8-4 record against the home favorite.

In the other semi-final, Roger Federer will play against Novak Djokovic that cruised past Andy Roddick 6-2 6-3 in just over an hour.
