World Nr. 3 Novak Djokovic had an easy win over Gilles Simon by 6-3 6-1 7-5 to tie the opening singles 1-1.
Gael Monfils crushed a nervous Janko Tipsarevic 6-1 7-6 (0) 6-0 in the opening match. The Serb was struggling from the very beginning when he double-faulted the first two points.
Djokovic will possibly replace Troicki and team up with Zimonjic in the double against Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra.
Than on Monday there will be the crucial match between Djokovic and Monfils.
Although France looks better position than Serbia for the final victory, a very inspired Djokovic (still unbeaten in 2010 Davis Cup matches) could reverse the odds.
