Sergei Krotiouk banned for life for match fixing

A bad news for tennis.

Sergei Krotiouk is not a top player as he is currently world no.789 with a career high 486, but this proves that there can be some match fixing in tennis.

The Russian has been found guilty of 41 counts of violations and deemed to have influenced “the outcome or any other aspect of an event,” to “facilitate any player not to use his or her best efforts in any event” and to offer money or other benefit “with the intention of negatively influencing” a player’s best efforts in any event.

The ban came from the Russian anti-corruption unit that has also fined the player of $60.000.
