Nadal crashes out in Shanghai

It’s not a good time for Rafa. After a decent 2011 plagued by a flying Serb, he is now struggling to get back to his solid and seemingly unbreakable game.

After his defeat in Tokyo last week at the hand of Murray he now suffers another defeat from world nr.23 Florian Mayer.

The German looked quite inspired from the beginning and did not give too many chances to a not-so-good Rafa.

“Today is a disappointing day. I felt that I did everything right,” Nadal said.
“For me the mistake, the really big mistake, was in the second game of the second set. When the opponent is playing well, you have to convert these opportunities. So that’s sport. He did better than me. I am out. He is going to play tomorrow. That’s all.”

Murray is now the super favorite to win the Shanghai Masters.
