Radwanska beat Goerges to win the 2012 WTA title in Dubai – Video

And now… it is Radwanska on the roll!

The Polish is playing her best tennis and looks as confident as ever that she can compete with top players.

Last week she had to cope with a nasty and controversial defeat at the hand of Azarenka (see the article).

This week she wanted to shrugg off that disappointment and she did it in style.

In the final she had to play Goerges that is one of the 4 Germans in the top 20 and in great form.

The match lasted 1h 44m with a slight domination of the Polish that was enough to grant Radwanska her 8th career title.

‘I had to play my best to beat her,’ said Radwanska. ‘She hits so well it is hard to see the ball.

‘But I try to be calm, because, if you’re not, everything gets worse. I’m happy to have been playing great tennis at the start of this year. I just hope I can play this tennis the rest of the year.’

On the other side, the closeness of the match makes Goerges to be more confident about her tennis and she can clearly aim at further increase her ranking (she will be ranked 16th next week).

‘When something didn’t go in the direction I wanted to, it really used to affect me mentally,’ Goerges admitted. ‘Now I try to get out of it and take the challenge.’
