Harrison, Querrey, Sweeting and Ginepri advance to the second round – 2012 ATP Indian Wells

The American team keeps on trying to improve its results after their big fished (Roddick and Blake) seem to get to the end of their (glorious) careers.

The not-so-young Mardy Fish is still in the top 10, Isner is inches from it and the young Harrison is trying harder (still nr.76, but he may blossom anytime).

WC Querrey defeated qualifier Smyczek 7-6 (1) 6-4 and Ginepri (another WC) beat Lorenzi  1-6 6-3 6-4.

Ryan Sweeting destroyed Stebe 6-2 6-2 and the America promise Ryan Harrson crashed Cipolla 6-1 6-2.

Talking about other nationalities, but still interesting players, Davydenko defeated Sergei Bubka (not the pole vaulter, but the son) 7-5 6-3 and the evergreen (and sometimes a bit overweight) Nalbadian beat Starace 7-6 (4) 6-0.

Tomic is still struggling in his climb into the ATP glory and he loses 4-6 7-6 (4) 6-0 (!) with Muller (that blasted 23 aces!).

LLodra managed to win the most interesting match of the first round beating Gulbis (that is thinking of retiring…) 6-3 5-7 7-6 (3).

Tomorrow 2 titans (Djokovic and Murray) will start their tournament.
