Super Nadal flies to the 4th round, Isner and Berdych upset – 2012 ATP Sony Ericsson – Miami – Youtube Video

Rafa will never change (thanks God!). He was supposed to be a very depressed man after his match lost at  Roger’s hands in Indian Wells, but apparently the Spaniard has already regrouped to lose only 6 games in the first 2 matches.

After demolishing Giraldo 6-2 6-0, the world nr.2 had some more for a very seasoned player. It was a simple 6-2 6-2 to Radek.

“I’m just happy to be in the fourth round, winning two matches with a positive feeling and with comfortable results,” Nadal said. “I’ll just try to keep doing well and try to keep improving my level a little bit.”

Rafa will play the upcoming Japanese star Kei Nishikori in the next round. “He’s a fantastic player and it will be a very difficult match for me,” said Rafa. “He has a big talent to hit the ball very early, to play very aggressive. So he will be a really tough opponent.”

A big disappointment came from big John (not Jim) that suffered from an unexpected defeat. To be fair Mayer played a good match, but it is not normal for Isner to defend 10 break points, have a 63% of 1st serve in and winning only 65% of these 1st serves (unless he plays one of the top 3 monsters). This may come as a good news for Rafa that was meant to play him in a couple of matches (The Spaniard does not like much playing John).

Berdych was probably the biggest casualty of the day. Unfortunately the Czech was not in is usual form and… Dimitrov did not go to Miami to enjoy the night life…Well done Grigor!
