Caroline is trying hard to claim back the WTA rankings, but the path seems tricky.
This time she struggled in the first round against Ursula Radwanska. Down 1 break in the opener, she finally managed to get back to win the tie break at 4. The second set was definately easy with the Dane able to break Ursula 3 times.
Among the various results, we have n horrible trash done by Alize Cornet over the wildcard Malou Ejdesgaard 6-0 6-0 in 42 minutes and with 49-15 points won by Alize.
Malou is Dane and currently world 842… we understand that itis nice to give a wildcard to a local player, but tennis needs a bit of competitiveness…
Tomorrow Jelena Jankovic, another strong athlete that is struggling with her tennis, will start the tournament playing Laura Robson.
