The 2012 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is a premier WTA tournament. This means that you should not expect many top players to compete. This is not the case.
In a very tiny draw (28 players) you have almost all the best (we are missing just a few like Serena). It looks like a 2nd week Grand Slam draw.
At the top of the draw we expect a tasty Azarenka Radwanska semis (and you know about their quarrels). To tell the truth Vika should face Marion Bartoli in the quarters that beat her in Miami. But we still expect the Belarus to go through. Radaska has Li Na in her path toward the semis, but Agnieszka is really playing well.
The other side, the draw is still incredibly packed with Sharapova, Kvitova, Stosur, Wozniacki, Jankovic, Goerges (last year’s champion) and Francesca Schiavone (you’ll never know with her). We still expect a Kvitova – Sharapova semifinal… but it’s hard to say.
It is really nice to see that they managed to get such a quality draw for this tournament.
