We are getting to the final stage of the tournamnet and we have the first semifinalists.
Both of them had an easy task against their opponent.
DEL POTRO – DOLGOLOPOV 6-3 6-4
Too easy for Juan Martin that had just to keep at bay the Ukrainian. Alexandr is a very goo player, but too erratic for these levels.
Nothing really worked for Dolgolpov that had in mind only to attack Delpo at every ball and this tactict didn’t work much due to an incredible array of unforced errors on his backhand. His service was also a sort of disaster to commit 3 double faults and to put only the 37% on his first service in (!!!). No surprise why he was broken 3 times.
On the other side Del Potro had a very wise game aiming to just put a decent ball in waiting for his opponent to do the rest. The match ended in 83 minutes
BERDYCH – VERDASCO 6-1 6-2
The outcome was clear from the very beginning, actually.. it was clear from yesterday. In fact, his win against Nadal was too much emotional and Fernando couldn’t cope to play another difficult match (is this of the key differences between a good and a great player?). It took only 66 minutes for Tomas to win this match where he broke his opponent 4 times (on 4 break points!) without been broken.
So it will be Del Potro – Berdych.
Head to Head is 3-1 for Del Potro that won the last 3 matches.
The favourite is the Argentine, but Berdych is really at ease on the blue clay…
