Unbeilavable Robredo!
The Spaniard recovers for the 3rd consecutive time from a 0-2 sets deficit to beat Nicolas Almagro in 5 sets. Tommy had the same feat against Sijsling in the second round (6-7(2) 4-6 6-3 6-1 6-1) and Monfils in the third (2-6 6-7(5) 6-2 7-6(3) 6-2 saving 4 match points!), but this time doing the same against Almagro.. well that was special.
From Robredo
Talking about the match against Almagro, Tommy said “He was 4-1 up in the third set. Maybe he had a little bit of doubt, though, in that moment. Then I just pushed hard and I won the third. And then I was just dreaming and dreaming to try to do it again, and I did it.”
Back from injury
Tommy was sidelined by an injury that made him stop for 14 months. The Spaniard fell from being world no.5 to world no.470. Now ranked no.34 he is expected to break into the top 20 soon.
Next vs. Ferrer
Tommy will play another Spaniard in the next round. That’s David Ferrer that has demolished Kevin Anderson 6-3 6-1 6-1.
Head to head is 6-2 for David.
