OK, some people would say “Who cares?”, but Maria is always in the limelight and… many more people would say: “Really? what’s happened?”. So here is the story.
Maria was engaged with Sasha Vujacic and there was a lot of talk about her engagement and the wedding in November. After some strange stomach problems there was also a speculation about Maria being pregnant (false!). The Russian beauty uncovered the news with the surprise of many people. Actually this happened quite sometimes ago at the end of he spring. So no wedding this coming November in Istanbul.
“We have a tremendous amount of respect for each other,” she said. “Still would love to call him as a friend. We spent really great years together.”
When Maria was asked why she has never said anything, she replied “I was waiting for somebody to ask me that question but nobody did directly. I’ve never really been the type of person to announce things. I never have in any of my previous relationships as well.”
It was obviously a challenging decision from both our ends,” Sharapova said. “It was a really nice period of time for both of us. But our career schedules just made it extremely difficult to see each other with the traveling and especially his career move to Turkey. The playing there was a little bit different in terms of he wasn’t able to travel much.
