Kuznetsova upsets Wozniacki in Sydney

In a very hot day Svetlana Kuznetsova has a really good victory against Caroline Wozniacki. The match was played in a hot boiling environment (40 degrees) and it last more than 3 hours.

The Russian proved to be the strongest player when after a 10 minutes break conceded for the heat at the beginning of the third set she came back with an incredible focus and determination to win the decider 6-2.

Apparently the Russian has found again her love for tennis to comment. “I love to do this job, but sometimes it’s too much,” Kuznetsova said. Talking about a burn out she had in 2008 “I couldn’t do this any longer,”

“One month, two months, three months, I was like, I think I need to work,” she said. “I need to have a goal. Because like this, I had no goal. I was just relaxing. It was good for me. But I think the most important thing in the life is to have a goal. On the court, off the court, whatever, so your life [is] going somewhere  If you stop having goals, your life just freezes in the same position.

“I will have time to stay at home after my career. … My time is not to stop yet.” she added.

Against Kerber

Svetlana was coming from the qualifications and she has already beaten Goerges and Wozniacki. Now she will try also to upset Angelique Kerber in the quarters. Head to head is 1-0 for the Russian that won their only encounter 3-6 7-5 6-4 in the 3rd round of the 2010 Australian Open
