This was an interesting upset by the Ryan Harrison. The young American wants to become the American no.1 and defeating the actual American no.1 in straight sets… well it must have been a good stuff for him.

To add a bit more spice, Harrison was coming from the qualifications while Big Johny was seed no.1… not a good thing for Isner that looked definitely a bit slow.

The match lasted 74 minutes. Isner basted 10 aces (on 10 service games), but he was quite ineffective on his second serve to win 8 points out of 18. Ryan Harrison was also very effective at defending break points (he saved 3 out of 3) while Isner conceded 1 break for each set. (that was the difference between the two)

Apparently changing coach has already brought some benefits to Harrison’s game

Ryan will play for the first time Benneteau in the 3rd round.
