Ouch and double ouch.
The first ouch because Serena demolishes her opponent without conceding a single game a sort of like “If Maria did it… I can do it as well!” (see Sharapova’s bagel). The second because Serena had quite a bad fall that could have hurt her ankle.
The Match
Honestly there is not much to say. Even if there was a 7 minutes delay, the match lasted 54 minutes with Serena winning 52 points against Gallovits-Hall’s 18. 18 winners for Serena and only 1 from Gallovits-Hall… Just a one way traffic match.
The Fall
That was a kind of scary from Serena as at certain point just tripped to stay on the court. There was a strong (and thankfully wrong) sensation that something bad did happen.
Fortunately after 7 minutes Serena was able to get back to the match to winning it in great fashion.
“I’ll be out there unless something fatal happens to me,” Serena said. ”I’m not here to make excuses. I’m here to play.”
