Federer defeats Davydenko to clash with Tomic in the 3rd round of the AO

King Roger is playing a very good and solid tennis at the 2013 Australian Open,

Federer – Davydenko 6-3 6-3 6-4

Nicolay is definitely not the same top 10 player we saw some years ago… but he is still damn good. He took a couple of hours for the Maestro to win this match in straight sets. Roger was always in complete control every single set to give the impression that the match could never slip away from him.

Federer had 13 break points to break Davydenko 3 times without conceding a single break point.

Federer – Tomic head to head

The third round will be really interesting. Tomic sparked some controversy by saying that he wold be happy to play Federer if the Swiss could make it to the third round (!!!???)… maybe Tomic didn’t have a tennis channel during the last 10 years…

Head to head is 3-0 for Federer that won in the forth round of the Australian Open when Federer won 6-4 6-2 6-2.

Talking about Bernard, Federer said “I guess he’s learned a lot in the last year,”

“It’s nice he’s been able to turn it around after a tough end of the year, last year. It seems he’s playing well. It’s obviously a difficult match-up in terms of early in the tournament. But I’ve got to be ready, so I’m looking forward to the match.”
