No major surprises in the ladies draw.
Azarenka – Daniilidou 6-1 6-0
It took only 55 minutes for Vika to breeze past the Greek. Vika didn’t concede a single brak point to break her opponent 5 times and win 52 points on 76. Vika basted 21 winners vs. Daniilidou’s 7.
“I felt like I’m back into the competitive mode,” Azarenka said.
Vika will play Jamie Hampton in the 3rd round. This will be their first match.
Serena – Muguruza 6-2 6-0
This was an interesting match with a “false” result as the Spaniard opposed a good resistance to Serena. Eventually the American won the match in 1 hour and 15 minutes blasting 10 aces.
Serena had a small and curios little peoblem when she smashed her racket on her lip (video below).
Serena Will play Morita in the 3rd round.
Wozniacki – Vekic 6-1 6-4
Caroline found a good tennis to win in 1 hour and 12 minutes. The match was closer than the result with the ane winnin 59 points vs. Vekic’s 41.
Caroline will play Tsurenko in the third round.
