The match wasn’t as smooth as it seems from the scoreline. In fact, at the very beginning Maria was struggling a lot to tune up with Flipkens variations. The first set was very uncharacteristic as it lasted 43 minutes even if Maria won it 6-1 (the Russian won 39 points vs Flipkens’ 27… not normal for a 6-1).
The second set was a typical 6-0 with Maria winning 26 points out of 35.
