Hantuchova retires. Morito upsets Ivanovic to win two matches in the same day.

Big suriprises in Pattaya. Unfortunately the rain made the organisation schedule two mathes in the same day for some players… and that was a problem.

Daniela Hantuchova didn’t manage to cope with it. The Slovakian beauty won her first match 6-1 3-6 6-0 against Puchkova, but then she couldn’t make it in the second one to retire when she ws losing 6-2 3-0 to Bratchikova.

The big news of the day was Ayumi Morita that after defeating seed no.1 Ana Ivanovic, she also beat her compatriot and tennis veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm 4-6 6-4 6-1.

Another upset came when Heater Watson lost to Latvian qualifier (and world no.183) Ananstasija Sevastova 7-6 (4) 4-6 6-2.

Finally Maria Kirilenko (seed no.2) survived a scare against world no.155 Luksika Kumkhum (wildcard from Thailand). The Russian won 5-7 6-2 6-2 in 2 hours and 22 minutes.
