Azarenka, Sharapova and Serena Williams reach the quarters in Doha

We have quite predictable quarters in Doha as all top 8 top seeds (but Kerber) reach the quarters.

Azarenka

Victoria Azarenka gave a tough lesson to Christina McHale to beat her 6-0 6-0 in 67 minute. The American didn’t deserve the double bagel as she offered some opposition, but Vika was as ruthless as ever.

“Everything was working for me today,” Vika said. “When I stepped on court I felt my game. When I had a couple of difficult games I stayed focused and took advantage of that, and that was the key.

Christina has played some excellent matches and had some big wins and so I had to stay focused. I think I got rid of my frustrations (with the windy weather) yesterday.”

Vika will play Sara Errani in the quarters (7-5 5-7 6-2 on Hantuchova). Head to Head is 4-1 for Azarenka.

Sharapova

Maria Sharapova had also an easy one with Klara Zapolakova to win 6-3 6-3 in 87 minutes. Once again Maria was struggling a bit with her second serve to commit a whopping 9 double faults on 9 service games.

The Russian beauty will play Sam Stosur (6-4 7-5 on Kuznetsova)  in the quarters. Head to head is 11-2 for Maria.

Serena Williams

Serena had a very easy match against Ursula Radwanska to in 6-0 6-3 in just 57 minutes.

Serena left just 9 points to her opponent. The second set was a bit more even with Serena conceding a couple of breaks.

The American will play Kvitova (4-6 6-4 6-3 on Petrova) in the quarters. Head to head is 3-0 for Serena that has ever lost a set with the Czech.

Radwanska

Agnieszka defeated Ana Ivanovic 6-1 7-6 (6) in 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Pole will play Caroline Wozniacki (7-6 (6) 6-3 on Mona Barthel) in the quarters.

Head to Head is 5-3 for Caroline, but Agnieszka won the last 2.
