Czech tennis player Zahlavova Strycova suspended for six months for doping

After so much talk about doping. Here we are… a tennis player was caught.

The news came from the ITF that declared that the player got a 6 months ban for failing a drug test. 

The 26-year-old, Czech who is ranked 124th, was found to have used sibutramine, a stimulant. Strycova said that she was unaware that the drug was in a supplement she was taking. (ACAI Berry Thin).

The test occured in October during the WTA tournament in Paris. The suspension was backdated  to the 16th October 2013 and it will end by  April the 15th. Strycova was disqualified from 2 tournaments to give back the prize money and the points.
