Djokovics fall, Davydenko upsets Tipsarevic, Tomic retires in Dubai

Not a good start for Novak Djokovic…. but we are talking about doubles.. not singles.

Nole and his brother fell in the first round (5th consecutive time) at the hands of Davydenko and Norman 4-6 6-3 10-4 in 75 minutes.

Davydenko

Davydenko then managed to beat also seed no.6 Janko Tipsarevic 6-0 7-5 in 1 hour and 42 minutes to comment “I won the first six games because we fought or made mistakes,” said the Russian. “I tried to not hit winners, but  push the ball in the middle and wait. The first two games were half an hour. I was really tired. In two games, I was thinking ‘the match has just started and I’m already tired.’”

This is the third consecutive time that Tipsarevic loses in his opener… not good for the world no.9.

Davydenko will play the second round against Hanescu that benefited from a retiring Tomic.

Federer

Federer tomorrow is going to play agasint Granollers that defeated Montanes 6-3 6-1 in just 62 minutes. Roger’s part of the draw has become sensibly lighter after Tomic and Tipsarevic crashed out.
