What a Nole! The world no.1 was coming back to play a competitive match after almost a month, but he didn’t feel it.
Nole is playing in a category of its own. If he stays focus he is just superior to everybody. With Troicki it wasn’t any different. Nole was blasting winners from everywhere to win the first set without any effort.
Djokovic’s only “imperfection” came in the second set when he was leading 4-3 and 1 break up and he lost his service on the only break points he conceded to Viktor. Time to regourp, focus and win the next 2 games without much troubles.

“That was a great match, especially in the first set, considering the fact I haven’t played an official tournament for three, four weeks,” said Djokovic. “I wanted to be extra focused on the court today, because I also knew he has a big serve, as he had proven tonight, and can be very dangerous on these courts. This is one of the fastest hard courts on the tour that I have experienced outdoors. So you need to be really committed to every point and play well.”
Djokovic will play Bautista Agut (6-2 7-5 on Goffin) in the second round. This will be the first match between the two.
