Serena beats Azarenka and Redfoo in Madison Square Garden Exhibition

Tasty stuff also in the exhibition match between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka at the Madison Square Garden.

The American won 6-4 6-3 and she had also to play Redfoo, Azarenka’s “friend” (still do not get why they do not say officially that they are dating… it’s so obvious!)

After losing a point Vika gave the racket to Redfoo that came with his own racket to serve against Serena. The funny stuff is that Redfoo went immediately for broke to miss an ace for centimetres!!! (pity!).

A nice part of the event was also the clear friendship and respect shared by Azarenka and Serena. They both compete at the highest levels, but they just get along without any animosity (good example especially for womens’ tennis).

From Serena

“I think we really respect each other and I like Victoria as a person. I love how she’s so competitive on the court and even if she’s playing me, she gets so competitive and angry and fights, but at the same time when the match is over, it’s done. I like that.

“A lot of people play me, and only me, tough, but one thing I love about her — she plays everybody tough.”

From Vika

“For us as players, it’s also exciting to have someone who challenges you, who excites you to go on the court,” Azarenka said. “And off the court we’re doing pretty good, too.”
