Ferrer upset by Anderson. Isner falls to Hewitt in Indian Wells.

This is not a good moment for David Ferrer. The Spaniard was having a fine “Golden Swing” in South America to end it up with a bad trash at the hands of Rafal Nadal when he was defeated 6-0 6-2 in Acapulco final.

Indian Wells wasn’t any good for David as he lost in his opener 3-6 6-4 6-3 to Kevin Anderson in 1 hour and 55 minutes. What was surprising was that the South African giant didn’t serve at his levels to blast only 6 aces on 14 service games (4 double faults) to win only 70% points on his first serve. But Ferrer couldn’t take fully advantage of it.

Anderson will play Nieminem in the third round. Jarkko trashed Verdasco (seed no. 29) 6-1 6-0. Head to Head is 3-0 for Anderson.

Isner

John Isner had also a bad day at the office. It seems that big Johny can’t have a good tournament any more after his knee injury. This time he lost to Hewitt in 2 hours and 23 minutes 6-7 (6) 6-3 6-4. The only good point for Inser was his serve as he blasted 18 aces on 15 service games winning 72% points behind his first serve. The ground strokes were terrible.

Hewitt will face Wawrinka in the 3rd round. Head to head is 1-1.
