Jannik Sinner’s coach Riccardo Piatti has always maintained that the young Italian needs to play as many matches as he can in this first part of the career to gain more and more experience.

Unfortunately, Jannik couldn’t play as much as he wanted last year because of the global pandemic. However, he will try to add many more matches under his belt this season.

The schedule

According to reports, After the Australian Open, Sinner will play Montpellier (22nd of February), Rotterdam (1st of March), and then Marseille (8th of March). Obviously, Jannik might skip Montpellier if he goes very deep at the Australian Open. Jannik will also play an ATP250 in Melbourne before playing the major.

Jannik played the same tournaments last year. In Montpellier, he lost to Mikail Ymer in the first round 6-3 6-4, in Rotterdam he reached the quarters before losing to Pablo Carreno Busta a tough 3 setter 7-5 3-6 7-66. In Marseille, Jannik lost in the 2nd round a weird match against Daniil Medvedev 1-6 6-1 6-2.
