Sharapova, Radwanska and Wozniacki cruise in Paris opener

No surprises for 3 illustrious players of the WTA circuit.

Maria, Agnieszka and Caroline left just 10 games to their opponents.

Sharapova – Hsieh Su-Wei 6-2 6-1

Easy start of the tournament for the defending champion that blasted 24 winners (vs. Hsiesh’s 8), 4 aces (no double faults.. that’s surprising!) to grab the match in just 54 minutes.

The only question mark was when they could have finished the match as Monfils and Berdych were playing a long epic 5 setters.

“I wanted to finish tonight; it was a good decision to switch courts especially when I saw the guys were still playing,” Sharapova said.

Maria will play Eugenie Bouchard from Canada (ranked 77) in the second round.

Radwanska – Peer 6-1 6-1

A blonde Agnieszka overcame a shoulder injury to conceded only a couple of game to the Israeli to comment “Well, it’s up and down, but definitely it’s a little bit worse on clay. I think I’m used to the pain. I’m ready to go and I’m 100 per cent fit.”

Agnieszka will play in the next round world no.80 Mallory Burdette from USA

Wozniacki – Robson 6-3 6-2

A smooth match for the former world no.1 that took full advantage of a very nervous Laura Robson that committed 54 unforced errors (!!!) and 6 double faults.

Caroline will play Bojana Jovanosky (ranked 47) in the second round.
