Cori Gauff has been one of the most vocal players in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. The young American gave a memorable speech last summer when chaos erupted after the horribly killing of George Floyd.
Coco Gauff about Martin Luther King Jr.
The 18th of January is Martin Luther Jr. Day and Coco didn’t miss the chance to thank him for what he has done publicly. Gauff is very well aware that she is in her position not only because of her immense talent but also after what Martin Luther King has accomplished. Coco left the following message:
“We still have a long way to go but because of you I have a chance to be something great, thank you for everything.”
Coco is currently enduring the quarantine in Australia, where she will play a WTA500 event before trying to have another deep run in Melbourne. Last year Coco was just 15 and she reached the 2nd week after upsetting Naomi Osaka that was also the defending champion.
