CORONAVIRUS. Andreescu, Yastremska, Kostyuk, Sakkari among the players to endure strict quarantine

Bianca Andreescu, Dayana Yastremska, Marta Kostyuk, Maria Sakkari and Ons Jabuer, are among the players that will have to be confined for 14 days in their room.

Yastremska Andreescu

The beginning of this challenging Australian Open wasn’t that glorious. While Tenis Australia put a massive effort into organizing the event, it was very difficult to get ready for every occurrence.

Things started to get nasty when it was announced that 66 passengers of a plane that departed from Los Angeles had to adhere to a strict quarantine without the opportunity of training for 5 hours per day. The reason for the strict confinement was that 2 people on the airplane were found positive for Coronavirus.

Unfortunately, the passengers of a plane coming from Abu Dhabi had to stand the same fate as 1 person was found positive. That means that some top players will need to be confined in their room for 14 days. Some of them are Bianca Andreescu, Dayana Yastremska, Marta Kostyuk, Maria Sakkari, Ons Jabeur, Belinda Bencic, Paula Badosa, Angelique Kerber, Svetlana Kutsnetova and Sorana Cirstea.
