What an incredible upset!
Serbia and Team USA were on a 1-1 scoreline. Novak had a relatively easy match vs Isner to win in straight set 7-6 (5) 6-2 7-5. Then Querrey defeated Troicki rallying from 2 sets down 7-6(1) 3-6 4-6 6-1 6-4.
The doubles were just crucial. Zimonjic and Bozoljac managed to win in 4 hours and 23 minutes against the Bryans 7-6 (5), 7-6 (1), 5-7, 4-6, 15-13
Bozoljac not the weak link
The wolrd no. 335 ws expected to be the weak link, but he surprised everybody playing great tennis.
“If he was Novak Djokovic, you would say, Maybe,” Courier said of him. “Not a guy where he’s ranked. The ball doesn’t know what ranking is. The ball just knows where it goes. It was some incredible tennis.”
“I was just trying to focus through the whole match, not to think about the Bryan brothers, not to think about the Davis Cup match, just to try to play my best and I did it,” said Bozoljac .
Serbia the favourite
Now Serbia seems to be the favorit to get to the semis. In fact, Nole is the clear pick vs Sam Querrey to plausibly give the decisive point to his team.
“He’s No. 1 in the world,” Querrey said . “You got play great to beat him. If I’m going to win that one, everything is going to have to be working. But I’m confident after this match; I was confident going into it; I’m just going to go out there and lay it on the line.”
