De Minaur wins weird title in Antalya after Bublik retires with injury

Alex conquers his 4th career title in a rather strange set up. The Australian Open next.

De Minaur

A title is a tile, and this concept definitely applies in Antalya for Alex De Minaur. The entertaining Aussie conquers this uncharacteristic ATP250 in Antalya whose draw looked like more a glorified Challenger. The event wasn’t even televised and it recorded many defections just before its start.

However, Alex was great at keeping his focus and he won the final in another rather uncharacteristic way after Alexander Bublik was forced to withdraw following an ankle injury. This was De Minaur 4th career title.

Alex had a rather easy run in Antalya with many smooth wins (see the draw) with the exception of the semifinal when he had to beat David Goffin in 3 sets.

Even the “celebration post” from De Minaur was rather weird as the picture was taken on in the resort on his balcony. The trophy didn’t look like a trophy either. Anyway, as per above, a title is a title.
