Emotional Rosol wins his first title in Bucharest

This was quite an emotional week for Lukas Rosol. Just after few days his father passed away, the Czech played the best tournament of his career to win his first title without dropping a single set. 

After a surprising win the the semis against the seed no.2 Gilles Simon (a 6-2 6-3 trash), Lukas conceded only 5 games also to Garcia-Lopez.

From Rosol 

“I wanted to dedicate this trophy to someone, so I found the energy. I felt somebody was helping me from up top. It’s not just about me. My family has always supported me and my tennis. I felt match after match, my dream was coming true.

“It could not be better this week. I came here from a full two weeks of practice. I didn’t know what to expect of myself. So I’m pretty satisfied with this result. I will remember this week. It was very emotional for me and is something special. I found a way to beat some good players and succeed.”

After this title Rosol will be climb 13 places to be a career high world no.35
