Serena nowadays is not Venus and Laura Robson got it straight away.
Laura had an easy life with Venus in the opener to defeat her 6-3 6-2, but Serena gave it back with interests by conceding only 4 games to the teenager.
The match was a one way traffic with Serena winning 62 points vs. Laura’s 42. The youngster was particularly nervous on her second serve to commit 8 double faults on 8 service games and win only 6 points out of 21.

After the match the teenager commented “I felt like I had a couple of chances that I didn’t take, especially on those break points,”
“But in a way you expect her to hit an unbelievable shot all the time, and when she doesn’t you’re not ready for it. But there’s definitely a lot of things I can take out of it.”
