Roger played a spotless match to break his opponent 4 times without even conceding a single break point. This was a great result for Roger as he has always struggled with Simon in the past to have now a 3-2 record with him.

The big thing is that Roger will clash in the quarters against the new tennis star, Jerzy Janowicz that has defeated Tsonga in his opener to then beat Gasquet in a tight 3 settter 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-4.
