That was so much fun!
Roger had to take on Paire that is definitely one of the most entertaining players on tour. Everybody was expecting something special and the match was up to the expectations. Both players were going for the kill at every single point with fantastic shots.
The Frenchman played at his very best in both sets to push Roger to his (very high) limits. In the first set Roger was broken in the seventh game to break back immediately in the following game. Eventually the Maestro won the opener at the tie break at 5.
In the second set Roger won the decisive break in the third game to then win the set 6-4.

Roger will play the final against his nemesis Rafael Nadal to comment “It almost doesn’t matter what the surface or what the conditions are. I’ve got to play aggressive tennis and take it to Rafa,”
“I know he doesn’t give me much on clay. He’s got incredible spin.”
