What an interesting draw in Paris!
Unlucky Djokovic
Nole is poised to play Rafa in the semifinal… but that is not all. Djokovic had a horrendous draw to play Goffin in the opener and after a couple of rounds to clash again with Dimitrov that upset him in Madrid. Then the Serb will clash against the King of Clay in the semifinal… not an easy task!
Happy Rafa
Nadal was a bit unlucky to fall in Nole’s half (you know… he really prefers playing with Roger), but he has a clear path till the semifinals. He may struggle with either Wawrinka (but he is not 100% fit) or Janowicz (he can play some incredible tennis) in the quarters… but if Rafa is fit he will get to the semifinal without any problem.
Super Smiling Roger
The Swiss Maestro had an exceptional draw to play 2 qualifiers in the first 2 rounds. The only problem is that he is expected to clash against Benneteau in the third round (Roger struggles at times with him), but for the rest we can’t see any problem (Tsonga?) for the Maestro to reach the semifinal and then clash with either Berdych (he had a horrible draw) or Ferrer.
The youngsters and the floaters
Grigor Dimitrov was once again quite unlucky to possibly clash with Djokovic in the 3rd round. Grigor did upset him in Madrid, but beating Nole on a best of 5 in Paris… well good luck!
Janowicz had a very good draw to possibly clash against an unfit Wawrinka in the third round. Then Jerzy may play Nadal in the quarters…that would be a good result.
Troubled Tomic had also a good one to play Tursunov in the opener and then maybe Dolgolopo and Kohlschreiber in the following matches.
Raonic had a good draw to possibly play Ferrer in the 4th round.
Mad Max Gulbis had a bad one to possibly clash against Berdych in the 2nd round.
Best 1st rounds
We have a tasty Berdych – Monfils, a nice Djokovic – Goffin (we can’t see Nole losing that one), an entertaining Paire – Baghdatis
