Following the results of the last few months it seems clear that Serena and Maria have something more than the rest of the pack to be the super favorite for this year’s edition.
Serena wants definitely to make it clear that last year’s huge upset when she was defeated in the first round by world no.111 Virginie Razzano was something not belonging to this world. Serena has now won Madrid and Rome back to back to really going for the kill in Paris.
Maria is definitely the “second and strong” choice for this Roland Garros as she looks stronger than all the other players… but Serena. The Russian has consolidate her 2nd rank and she has already won a coupe of titles this year in Stuttgart and Indian Wells.
Then you’ll never know… somebody else may come strongly. Players such as Sam Stosur, Li Na and Azarenka can win any tournament and on top of it the Roland Garros looks always good for Italians… not Schiavone this time, but Sara Errani is a tough one on the dirt. She is the 2012 Runner up… and this year she may go for it.
