Good start of the tournament for David Ferrer that managed to beat Matosevic in straight set.
The Spaniard won his opener in Paris for the 11th consecutive year to confirm to be at ease in Paris.
After the match David commented “It is not easy to play with Matosevic because he has a very good serve, very good power with his shots, and sometimes, I can’t play my game,” said Ferrer. “In the final of the second and third sets, I played better. I was more consistent with my game and I happy because I’m in the second round.”
David will play the next round either with Steve Johnson or his compatriot Albert Montanes that has just won the 250ATP event in Marseille.
