Injured Tomic retires from the French Open

Unfortunately there is more misery for Bernard Tomic.

After a terrible 2012 it seemed that the Australian was on the way back to recovery. This is not happening. A couple of weeks ago his father was arrested in Madrid for badly assaulting Bernard’ sparring partner to be banned from attending Tomic’s matches. Now Bernard had to also retire from his opener against Hanescu for a hamstring injury when he was 5-7, 6-7 (8) 1-2 down.

From Bernard

After the match Tomic had a couple of words regarding his situation and his father to say: “He’s here right now in Paris so, you know, he’s still working with me, he’s still my dad, he’s still my coach and, you know, I love him a lot”

Talking about hiring a new coach he added “I probably, you know, have a choice of two or three people now. I will decide that with my dad over the next week, and you know, who knows? Maybe you’ll see someone you don’t expect.”
