Sleepy Sloane Stephens reaches the 3rd round in Paris

The Roland Garros is getting better and better for the young American that is trying to repeat her incredible performance she had in Melbourne where she reached the semifinal defeating her childhood hero Serena Williams.

Ranked world no.17, Sloane has now reached the third round without dropping a set (6-2 7-5 on Karin Knapp from Italy and now 6-1 6-3 on Vania King).

From Sloane

Talking about her match and the difficulty to deal with the frequent rain interruptions (after the second one she went to sleep!) “Yeah,I haven’t done well with the waiting. But everything else I’ve been pretty good.”

“You literally have nothing to do,” Stephens said about the suspensions. “Should I eat? Do cartwheels? You have no idea what to do, so it’s just kind of you’re lost.”

Next vs. Erakovic

Stephens will play the next match against Maria Erakovic from New Zealand that has just defeated Dominika Cibulkova 6-2 2-6 6-4.

These two have already played once last yea in Memphis (first round) when Sloane lost 4-6 6-0 6-1, this year it should be different.
