Can you beleive it? Feliciano is back!
The Spaniard has been battling with some injuries to slip to a world no.39 rank. Lopez wasn’t even sure if he was able to play this tournament, to finally come and win it!
The final wasn’t of a very high quality as it was plaguered by a very strong wind. Feliciano blasted 16 aces on 15 service games and Gilles Simon had to face a mind blowing 21 break points to save 17.
The match ended after 2 hours and 48 minutes.
From Feliciano
“It’s definitely a good feeling to win the week before Wimbledon. Conditions were so tough but we did our best. Hopefully at Wimbledon we can play a better match.” said Feliciano.
This is the third career title for Lopez after winning Vienna in 2004 and Johaneesburg in 2010.
