That couldn’t be any better!
Roger wins his opener in Wimbledon in style… in real style.
The Swiss Maestro conceded only 5 games to Victor Hanescu to win 81 points versus Hanescu’s 31. Roger broke Victor 6 times to not concede a single break point…and.. oh yes, there was also a bagel in the third set (6-0). It looked like as Roger was just strolling in his backyard.
From Roger
After the match a serene Federer commented “I thought overall I played a good match, no hiccups on the serve.
I returned good, sometimes aggressive, sometimes with the chip, the way I usually do it on the grass. Then I was moving pretty well even though I thought it was quite slippery, because it is opening Monday. I think I handled that well.
There was just a bit of a breeze and it was cold. I’m happy to get out of there early and quickly. So it was a perfect day.”
Next vs. Stakovzky
The Maestro will play the Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky (ranked 116) that has defeated Dutra Silva 6-4 6-0 6-4. Head to head is 1-0 for Roger that won the match in the quarters in Dubai 2011 6-3 6-4.
A magic from the Maestro
