Cori Gauff is about to commence her 2021 season hoping for a fantastic run. The American sensation is now in Abu Dhabi where she has received a rather favorable draw since she will face the world no.260 Ulrikke Eikeri in the first round. Ulrikke accessed the main draw after Amanda Anisimova had to withdraw for an unspecified illness (we hope it is not Coronavirus related).
Ranked no.48, Coco started the last season in great fashion after reaching the 4th round in the Australian Open after she defeated Naomi Osaka in straight sets. Coco hit the headlines with her win also because Naomi was the defending champion and Coco was still just 15-year-old.
Things didn’t go as gloriously in the following part of the year for the American teenager, but given her age (16) she has all the time to keep improving her rankings and results.
Here the draw:
Main Draw in Abu Dhabi, where Sofia Kenin, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova, and Aryna Sabalenka are the top seeds.
